MEDIATORS & GUIDED TOURS The Mediator Team Gallery access is facilitated by the Mediator Team who are the main point of contact between the Museum and the public. The Mediator Team are based in the gallery spaces. They lead gallery tours and are available to discuss work in the galleries. They also provide input into the Education and Community Department’s programmes and the National Programme.
Guided Tours Guided tours are led by the Mediator Team. There are free guided tours of the exhibitions every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday at 2.30pm. These tours are designed for individual visitors and small groups. No booking is required. - It is also possible to book a guided tour for larger groups. Guided tours are free of charge and are available from Tuesday to Friday at 10.00am, 11.45am, 2.30pm and 4.00pm.
- The maximum size group is 32.
- There is a minimum of three-weeks notice to book a tour, early booking is advised.
- Guided tours have no practical art-making component but it is possible to bring paper, sketchbooks and clipboards into the gallery spaces. Only dry materials are permitted in the galleries and some exhibitions may be restricted.
- Supervision of children is required at all times.

The Process Room is located in the gallery space on the first floor. The purpose of the Process Room is to reveal processes in the creation, exhibition and consideration of contemporary art, which are often hidden from the general public. Examples of work-in-progress from programmes, such as the Artists’ Residency Programme, and aspects of the Education and Community Programme, can be seen in the Process Room. RESPONSE ROOM
During your visit to IMMA, drop into the Response Room. Tell us about your experience of the artworks on exhibition, draw or write on a Respose Card and pop it into the special post box. Make an artwork with the materials in the room (pencils, markers, paper and fabric) or have a look at what other visitors have pinned on the display boards in response to their experiences at IMMA.
ARTISTS’ PANEL 2009/2010
APPLICATION TO THE IMMA ARTISTS' PANEL 2009|2010 IS NOW CLOSED. Call for Applications Become part of the IMMA Artists’ Panel 2009|2010 Every two years, the Irish Museum of Modern Art calls for applications from professional artists, critical writers, curators and/or art historians to become part of the Artists’ Panel.
IMMA is committed to creating opportunities for the public to engage with modern and contemporary art works, concepts and practices. To do this, IMMA utilises the knowledge, skill and experience of artists on the Panel to contribute to, and implement, its programmes.
Artists on the Panel may be invited to facilitate workshops, projects, talks, lectures, etc., depending on their areas of expertise and interest, and the needs of the IMMA programme. Inclusion on the 2009|2010 Panel may encompass working on once-off, short-term and/or long-term initiatives within the overall IMMA programme.
Artists on the Panel may also be involved in those aspects of the IMMA programme which take place in various locations throughout Ireland, such as the IMMA National Programme. IMMA is particularly interested in new and innovative approaches to engaging the public with modern and contemporary art. Closing date for application: Friday 14 November 2008 Notification date: Approximately two months from the application date. All applications must be accompanied by an application form. Kids’ Own Publishing Partnership worked with artists and teachers to mediate shared visions of what was possible in combining artistic integrity, classroom practicalities and curriculum concerns. The exhibition was in IMMA’s East Ground galleries from 16 April to 20 July 2003.
